Torrents Art at the Confluence Center is pleased to announce the Final Friday Closing Reception for Raiz y Rama (Root and Branch), a special group exhibition inspired by Día de los Muertos and its rich cultural traditions.Guest curated by local Latine artist Krissy Ramirez, this exhibit brings together an extraordinary collection of work exploring universal themes of life, death, memory, and connection.
Throughout November, Raiz y Rama has invited audiences into a vibrant visual dialogue on the ways Día de los Muertos traditions transcend geography, blending personal histories with shared cultural roots. The exhibition spans a wide range of media, from spiritual reflections and symbols of healing, to ceramic recreations of beloved foods that honor ancestry and togetherness.
The show features work from seventeen local and national Latine artists, including:
Rachel Calderón-Navarro, Patricia Countryman, April Dearduff, Andrea Garcia, Monica Gilles-BringsYellow, Nicole Hamm, Hannah Kautto, Diana Ingalls Leyba, José Galván Martinez, Marissa Nestor, Vesna Vera O’Connor, Lauren Orozco, Ismara Partidas, Dina Perlasca, Krissy Ramirez, Fiorella Michelis-Rosas, and Fernando Serrano.
The community is warmly invited to celebrate the culmination of this powerful exhibition on Final Friday, November 28th from 6–8pm at the Confluence Center, Western Montana’s home for nonprofit events. This reception offers a final opportunity to experience the artwork, connect with the artists, and gather in a space dedicated to cultural expression and community storytelling.
